This portable devotional painting bears a dedication to Juan Manuel Moscoso y Peralta as Bishop of Córdoba. The inscription provides the basis for dating the work to approximately 1771–1778. The Virgin of the Rosary appears with the Holy Trinity, Saint Michael and a company of saints, forming a devotional programme associated with the bishop.

The attribution to Tomás Cabrera is proposed on stylistic and historical grounds, including comparison with Marian compositions associated with the painter and his activity in Salta. The work is unsigned, and its authorship remains an attribution.

The canvas retains its original rolling system: a wooden roller with turned finials and a protective case formed of two half-round sections, painted red with gilt interiors. Designed for transport and private devotion, the ensemble also preserves traces of an earlier painted composition beneath the visible image.
