This silver-covered devotional chest combines Eucharistic and Marian imagery. Engraved angels flank the central lock on the front, while the domed lid bears an inscription in praise of the Blessed Sacrament. The reverse is decorated with saints and heraldic motifs.
The chest is discussed and illustrated in the catalogue María Josefa Sánchez: El pincel de la devoción, where it is identified as a work from the Viceroyalty of Peru, dating to the late seventeenth or early eighteenth century. Its engraved and repoussé silver decoration is applied over a wooden structure.
